Montana Code Annotated · § 7-4-4106 — Authority to consolidate municipal offices

The city or town council may by ordinance consolidate any of the offices, except that of city judge, the appointment to which is made by the mayor with the advice and consent of the council and may require any of the elected officers to perform any of the duties of an appointed officer whose office has been abolished.
