    Scope and limits

We check exact citations against our case library and supported Florida statutes and court rules. See our coverage. Our library is incomplete: not in our library does not mean a citation is wrong.

A match does not confirm that an authority supports your argument, remains good law, or meets a court's citation requirements. Multiple matches need your review. Withdrawn or superseded opinions are not reported as found.

Your pasted text is sent to Jurisio for this check. It is processed temporarily and is not stored or logged. We count checks and errors, never your pasted text. Avoid including private or sensitive details.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is this free?

Yes. No account or sign-up is required.

Does a missing citation mean it is made up?

No. Not in our library — that does not mean it is wrong. Check the official source when our library has no match.

    What does ambiguous mean?

More than one authority matches the citation. Review the listed candidates to identify the intended authority.

    Does this use AI?

No. The checker extracts citations and looks up exact matches in our library. It does not ask an AI model or search outside providers.

    Is my text uploaded?

Yes, to Jurisio for the check. Your text is not retained or logged, and tool analytics never include it.

Why could a citation not be checked?

A library read may time out or fail. Try again later. Citations beyond the first 60 are not checked.

Ask Ella for help reviewing your brief. This link opens Ella with a suggested question; it does not transfer your text.
